Rose is Western Tidewater’s Player of the Week

COURTLAND–Matt Rose of the Southampton Academy Raiders is Western Tidewater’s Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 7.
The Raiders were the lone Western Tidewater home game, and they blew out St. David’s Warriors 48-0.
In the victory, quarterback Rose led the team in passing, completing 7 out of 11 passes for 156 yards. Three of those passes were complete for touchdowns. Rose also rushed for 65 yards on 6 carries, averaging approximately 10.8 yards per carry.
He also was effective on the defensive side of the ball. Rose had an interception in the 2nd quarter.
Rose recovered a fumble on the Raider 45 yard line and returned it for a touchdown with 2:06 left in the first half.
