Rose named Western Tidewater’s Player of the Week

COURTLAND—Quarterback Matt Rose of Southampton Academy is Western Tidewater’s Player of the Week for week 8 of the high school football season.

In the 34-8 victory against Rocky Mount Academy, Rose led the Raiders in rushing yards with 96 on 14 attempts. One of those rushes resulted in a touchdown.
While he only completed 3 passes in 7 attempts, all three passes resulted in touchdowns.
Rose also caused a fumble, which teammate Paul Parker returned 65 yards for a touchdown.
