Isle of Wight Academy wins 56-47 over StoneBridge School

ISLE OF WIGHT COURTHOUSE, Va. — Isle of Wight Academy Thursday won its second-straight game, claiming a 56-47 win over StoneBridge School. Junior Adam Webb had a career-high 14 points, along with 5 rebounds and 4 blocks. Teammate Bryce Casey added 14 points, along with 15 boards; Senior Josh Darden had 10 points and 9 rebounds. The Chargers also took the overall rebounding battle, 46-40. Tied with StoneBridge at 27 at intermission, IWA outscored the Cavaliers 21-11 to open the second half, led by Webb’s three field goals during the third quarter. During a key one-minute stretch, IWA ran off 6 straight points, starting with a six-footer by Webb that gave the Chargers a 31-30 lead with 6:25 left in the third. Webb scored again, as did Casey, as IWA expanded its lead to 35-30 lead with 5:25 left in the quarter. StoneBridge’s Chigozie Igbonagwam led his team with 16 points, including 3 three-pointers. IWA won its second game in a row for the second time this season. They will go for their first three-game win streak Friday night versus Broadwater in Jester Gymnasium.
