Boaters, Fishermen needed on Clean Rivers Day

Editor,
Final reminder that Clean Rivers Day is April 12. We are really lacking in getting help cleaning up the Blackwater and Nottoway from fishermen and boaters. We need teams or individuals with watercraft to be out on the rivers picking up trash.
If you like to fish or boat on the Blackwater and Nottoway, then you should be participating in this effort to clean up our rivers. I have heavy-duty trash bags and extra-long litter-getters for boaters.
Hey, you don’t have to make it all work and no play. While you’re out there picking up trash, maybe you can find time to wet a line and pick up some fish or have a picnic. You don’t even have to let me know where you plan to pick-up on the river, there is plenty of trash for everybody believe me. Just let me know afterward what you picked up.
Boaters can pile up the trash they collect right there at the ramp at the designated location on that day. Clean Rivers Day is good chance for you to give a little back to the rivers for all the good times you’ve had out there in the past.
