WINDSOR—Down 3-0 in the bottom of the 5th inning, the Lady Dukes of Windsor remembered last years’ playoff loss and came storming back to defeat the Lady Firebirds of Arcadia 9-3 on Tuesday.

Macayla Service, who was 4-for-4 on the day, started the rally off with a triple, and then Brittany Wade hit the go ahead homerun. From there, it was all Lady Dukes.

“The win was huge,” said Head Coach Sean Wade. “We learned form last year’s playoff loss.

“Its only fitting to have to battle through adversity to win a playoff game. This crop of seniors had never experienced that,” he continued.

“Last year we were two outs away and lost. Our very first practice we played that loss over and over and vowed to not let the same thing happen this year.

It was amazing to see the smiles and celebration from such a special win.”

Morgan Whitley also hit a homerun that day, going 2-for-4 with a double as well. Lydia Willis and Payton Gay were each 2-for-3 and Kelsey Shaffer got on base three times with a single and two walks.
