FRANKLIN—Tina and David Martin of Franklin announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Martin, to Neil Causey. He is the son of Patricia and James Causey of Richmond.

Miss Martin is the maternal granddaughter of Barbara and Bobby Wade of Franklin, and the paternal granddaughter of Lawrence Martin of Murfreesboro, North Carolina, and the late Ruth Martin.

A 2005 graduate of Franklin High School, Miss Martin went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and Old Dominion University. Majoring in speech pathology, she works at the Children’s Hospital of King’s Daughters.

Mr. Causey is the maternal grandson of the late Heather and Earl Causey, who lived in Hertford, England, and the late Elizabeth and Ralph Wynn, who lived in Silver Springs, Maryland.

A 2001 graduate of Richmond Collegiate, Mr. Causey went on to graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University. Majoring in mass communications, he works at Adams Outdoor Advertising.

The couple lives happily at their new home in Virginia Beach, blocks from the ocean.

The wedding is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at Lesner Inn, Virginia Beach.
