Sunbeam area hit by three burglaries this week

COURTLAND—The Southampton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a series of burglaries in the southeast corner of the county, said Maj. Gene Drewery, spokesman for the sheriff’s office.
There have been three burglaries, two on Sunbeam Road and one on Sandy Ridge Road reported since June 17. It appeared methods of entry are prying or forcing windows or doors open. Items taken have been televisions, electronics, tools, cash and other items.
The connection between these burglaries at this time is the geographical area. There are no suspects or vehicle descriptions at this time.
Residents and travelers in the area are urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 653-2100 if something or someone suspicious is seen. Information can also be passed on to any deputy, the Crime Line 653-2900 or the department website www.shso.org.
