SUFFOLK—Judith Butler Hatfield, 71, passed away at home on Sept. 21, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Nansemond County, she is the wife of Willard R. Hatfield, and the daughter of the late Texanna and Durward C. Butler.
Mrs. Hatfield is predeceased by her sisters, Frances Jones and Durward Ann Smith.
She was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church.
She owned and operated Judy’s Cakes and Catering for 39 years.
Besides her loving husband, Mrs. Hatfield is survived by her son, Michael Hatfield and wife, Paula, of Franklin; grandchildren, Natalie, Joshua, Zachary and Andrew; sister, Linda Dilday and husband, Gene, of Franklin; brother, Eugene Butler and wife, Betsy, of Suffolk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. by Pastor Curt Faison at Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, 37527 Seacock Chapel Rd., Zuni. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Sept. 24, in R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, from 6-8 p.m.
