NEWSOMS—Gracie Belle Glover, 72, passed away on Nov. 23, 2014, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late Eldridge Lee and Virginia Garris Pope, and was also predeceased by a son, Sidney Keith Edwards; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Pope; a granddaughter, Mallory Brooke Presson; a niece, Pam Hale; and one great-grandchild.
Gracie was retired from Amadas Inc., and was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Boykins.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Johnny Glover; two daughters, Brenda E. Burgess (Todd) of Courtland, and Melisa E. Presson (Gordon) of Suffolk; two step-daughters, Cindy Blocker of Gatesville, North Carolina, and Patty Turner of Windsor; one sister, Gladys P. Clements (Jimmy), and one brother, Linwood P. Pope (Glenda), all of Emporia; 10 grandchildren, Nikki, Chris, Taylor, Lori, Dean, Mandi, Robbie, Justin, Jesse and Johnny; and six great-grandchildren, Carson, Charlotte, McKenzie “Gracie,” Haigen, Hudson and Holten.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with Pastor James Young officiating. Burial will follow at Southampton Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and suggests memorials be made to Berean Baptist Church, P.O. Box 235, Boykins, VA 23827.
