Joan Eure Blythe

Eure—Joan Eure Blythe, 83, passed away on Dec. 4, 2014, at Consulate Health Care of Windsor, Virginia.
Mrs. Blythe was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Annie Brinkley Eure, and was predeceased by her husband, Thurman Rufus Blythe. She was also predeceased by three brothers, John, Dick and L.T. Eure; and one sister, Martha Schwab.
She was born in Gates, North Carolina, and was a member of Eure Christian Church.
Left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Judy Long (Sid) of Branchville, Shirley Coburn (Michael) of Carrsville, Linda Brown (James) of Suffolk and Jackie Beale (Bob) of Franklin; three sisters, Marie E. Swain of Portsmouth, Dorothy E. Edwards of Chesapeake and Joyce E. Brunson of Jacksonville, Florida; 11 grandchildren, Chad Ward, Shannon Ward Beltrami, Sidney Long, Danny Wayne Sumpter, Tracy Edwards, Michael Coburn II, James Brown Jr., Joe Brown, Adam Derby, Erica Beale and Sarah Beale; and six great-grandchildren, Nickolas Sumpter, Ethan Sumpter, Brandon Ward, Keira Doss, James Brown and Mia Grace Beltrami.
The graveside funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 8, in Southampton Memorial Park, Franklin with the Rev. Wayne Gardner officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggest memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, South Eastern Virginia Chapter, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502.
