Edward Longoria

FRANKLIN—Edward Longoria, Sgt. First Class U.S. Army (Ret.), 75, passed away on Jan. 3, 2015, at his home.
Edward was born in Nordheim, Texas, a son of the late Antonio and Anita Martinez Longoria.
Edward was retired after 30 years of service and was a highly decorated veteran with tours in Korea and four tours in Vietnam. At the age of 16, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy, and after three years enlisted into the Army.
He was a member of the Franklin VFW and the American Legion and a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan.
He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Davidson Longoria, and two brothers, Raymond and Ben.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Anthony E. “Tony” Longoria (Brooke), and his daughter, Catherine C. Boyce; sisters, Natalie, Esmeralda and Mona; and brothers, Tony, Romiro, Tino and Pete; and three grandchildren, Cameron, Tristan and Sophia Longoria.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, in Wright Funeral Home, 206 W. Fourth Ave,, Franklin, Virginia, with the Rev. Greg Kitts officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Poplar Spring Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home, and suggests that memorial donations in Edward’s name be made to VFW Post 4411, 3385 Beaver Dam Rd., Carrsville, VA 23315.
