IVOR
Deputies from the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Ivor man on Friday when they found 12 malnourished and one deceased dog on his property. David C. Hardt, 25, of the 9000 block of Doles Road, was charged with seven counts of animal deprivation, according to Major Gene H. Drewery, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

“There was water in the pens and a food container with food on the premises,” Drewery said. “Animal control had the dogs checked by a veterinarian and took possession of the animals.”

Hardt was released is own recognizance, and he is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday afternoon in Southampton County General District Court. The dogs, meanwhile, will be at a pound facility pending an order by a judge.
