Billy and Sharon Piersa of Hunterdale took home the $1,000 grand prize at the Franklin Cruise-In Finale on Saturday.

Over 120 cars participated in the finale and many community members attended the event to see cars, listen to Island Boys and shop the discounts that many of the local businesses were having that day.

“Billy attended all Cruise-In’s with various cars from his Baker’s Dozen and collected 16 tickets which his number 0516 was drawn. The first drawn ticket was not present and after 15 minutes a second ticket was drawn with his winning numbers popping up,” Melissa G. Butler said.

Butler also added in that Billy has collected cars for most of his life and his wife, Sharon, also enjoys them. She goes to every event she can in-between caring for her mother.

“He is a retiree from Union Camp and you can find him spending most days detailing one of his many cars,” Butler stated.

Volunteer Linda Smith said, “We’ve had a terrific turn out this season and a terrific turnout for the finale.”

Volunteer Lauren Davis then added in, “It’s great that vintage cars can bring a town of people together.”

Many of the volunteers and participants of the Cruise-In Finale said how much of a great season the event has had and how they have big plans for next year’s season and next year’s finale.
