Mary’z Café in Franklin has officially closed its doors.

As of right now, attempts to reach the owner to obtain a comment about the reason for the restaurant closing have been unsuccessful.

However, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page, a post published on Sept. 16 at 10:53 a.m. said, “Maryz Cafe has Closed. Permanently. I want to thank all of our supporters. It is with much sadness I had to do this.”

Many Facebook friends of the restaurant commented on the post with how upset they were the restaurant closed.

Janice Parker said, “I am so very very sorry to hear the sad news. Take care you guys. Try and stay in touch.”

Frances Wheeler stated, “I am so sorry to hear this. I was so looking forward to seeing all of you again when I came back to visit. But I wish you much success in whatever you do.”

Crystal Carpenter added in, “Another small downtown business lost to corporate America.”
