SOUTHAMPTON
On Tuesday night’s away game, Southampton Academy varsity volleyball beat Brunswick Academy in three games with total scores being 25 to 11, 25 to 12 and 30 to 28.
Ashten Hinkle had six kills, Mason Pope had eight kills, Jordan Marks had 8 kills, Avery Pope had 22 assists and Allison Matthews had nine digs. In all, the team recorded 20 digs and 27 kills.
When asked about the standouts of the game, Coach Rebecca Harper said, “Miranda Lee went on a great serving run in the third game. She served seven straight. Kara Beth Poole and Madison Dunn made some great passes to get the plays started.
““I thought the girls played really well Tuesday night. We still need to work on our consistency with serving, but that is to be expected at this point in the season,” she continued. “I know we will keep improving! I was impressed with the hustle the girls showed even in the games that we were winning by a lot. They never gave up on a point.”
The team is scheduled to play again on Tuesday at home against Kenston Forest School.
