FRANKLIN — Carlisle William Campbell Sr., 80, passed away on Sept. 26, 2015.
He was born in Marion, South Carolina, the son of the late Barney C. Campbell and Marguerite M. Morrison.
He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Mary S. Campbell.
Carlisle was a veteran having served in the United States Army. He formerly worked as a chipper operator for Ben E. Babbs. He attended Bethel Assembly of God. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, loved the Redskins, and enjoyed racing Homer Pigeons.
Carlisle is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Carlisle W. Campbell Jr. (Cindy), Barney Campbell (Laura) and Kenneth Campbell; grandchildren and their spouses, Corey Campbell (Bethany), Krystal Jermstad (Kenny), Tiffany Campbell, Brian Campbell, Lance Cpl. Timothy Carter, Nicholas Campbell, Carlie Campbell; great-grandchildren, Paige and Natalie Campbell and Hayden Campbell; sisters, Betty Jo Holland, Barbara Ann White and Mary Frances Best; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m., in Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. T.R. King officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.
Friends may join the family on Wednesday from 7-8 p.m., and other times at the residences of Carlisle Jr. and Barney.
