To the Editor:

We are the Commonwealth’s Attorneys for the cities and counties surrounding Isle of Wight County. Collectively, we have served as prosecutors for over 91 years.

We know what it takes to run a prosecutor’s office and what makes an effective prosecutor. We also know that Georgette Phillips possesses those qualities.

On any given day, the elected Commonwealth’s Attorney is charged with evaluating evidence, supervising prosecutors, maintaining state and local budgets, training law enforcement and providing guidance on investigations. Most importantly, he or she makes prosecutorial decisions on a daily basis that affect the lives of both victims and defendants. For over 14 years, Mrs. Phillips has been doing this important work in Isle of Wight County.

We know Georgette Phillips. We know her abilities, her experience, and her reputation. She has been called upon to prosecute cases in Suffolk and Southampton when needed. For all of these reasons, we know that Georgette is and will continue to be an excellent Commonwealth’s Attorney. She has earned our respect and your vote.
