At Monday night’s City Council meeting, the council proclaimed Thursday as “Abor Day” in the city of Franklin.

The council relayed that the City of Franklin is honored by the National Arbor Day Foundation as it celebrates its 31st consecutive year as a certified “TREE CITY USA.”

City Council stated, “We urge all citizens to celebrate Arbor Day [on Oct. 29] and to support efforts to protect our trees and woodlands, and urge all citizens to plant trees to gladden the heart and promote the well-being of this and future generations.”
