FRANKLIN
Franklin Youth Football and Cheer Championship Night is set and the league has announced the schedule for this Wednesday night’s contests. All games will be played at Armory Field beginning at 6 o’clock that evening.

The first championship is the Flag Division, with the Windsor Knights Flag Team going up against the Franklin Mustangs. The Junior Division will have the Franklin Mustangs squaring off with the Juniors from Windsor. The final game of the evening has the Surry Cougars pitted against the undefeated Franklin Mustang team.

Also, this will be the night the young cheerleaders get to shine. All of the league’s cheering squads will perform routines between the Flag contest and the Junior Championship game.

“The Windsor Flag Team is undefeated in league play this year; it will be a true test for our young Mustangs,” said Mustang Football Director Rob Carter about the upcoming championship games. “The Junior game should be a good contest with two evenly talented teams matched against each other. For the big boys, Surry has shown improvement each week, but they can stop the powerful Mustangs. I’m sure coach Bynum and his staff will have the boys fired up and ready to play.

“Let me say this: win or lose we are very proud of each of our Mustang teams for reaching the final games in league play. The league is also recognizing its cheering squads next week. These young ladies have worked hard all season and will showcase their talents in a cheering exhibition.”

He added his hope that the public will come out support these young people on Wednesday.

“This should be a great night of youth football and cheering,” Carter continued. “Once again, the first game begins at six o’clock Wednesday evening, Nov. 4, Armory Field.”
