“The weather was wonderful. It was a really nice day,” Executive Director of Downtown Franklin Association Dan Howe said. “It looked like there were more people there than last year and it seemed like everybody was shopping.”

Howe also said that it seemed like the carriage rides were pleasing to everyone.

Many of the businesses in downtown said they had a successful day. Some of them commented that they had a lot of new customers whom they had met at the Business Expo on Thursday night come out on Saturday and shop in their stores.

“The open house went very well,” Debbie Crowder of The Cat’s Meow said. “We received great support from the community and from our new customers.”

Mary Morris of Mackans Office Supply and Printing said, “Saturday went wonderful. We introduced new products at the Expo and we were thrilled that people remembered us and came in on Saturday. People are really happy about our expansion of products.”

The Downtown Franklin Association and shop owners encourage everyone to come out and shop more this Saturday. The stores will be having discounts for Small Business Saturday.
