FRANKLIN — Carl Vernon Clark, 92, passed away on Nov. 28, 2015, at his residence.

He was a native of St. Joseph, Missouri, a son of the late Brian Rainey and Pinkey Tucker Clark, and was predeceased by his first wife, Catherine Clark, and his stepfather, Alexander Vernon Clark.

He was an Army veteran of WWII having served in North Africa, and a graduate of Auburn University. Mr. Clark was a retired superintendent of electrical maintenance at Union Camp (IP) for 35 years, a member of IEEE and a member of High Street United Methodist Church.

He was a longtime tennis enthusiast at Cypress Cove Country Club and the Franklin YMCA tennis courts.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Frances Jean Dismukes Clark; four daughters, Catherine Gail Carter (Art) of Sutherlin; Carla Rhonda Rolan of Knoxville, Tennessee; Caren Bonnie Greene of Manassas; and Carlyn Anne Clark of Jonesboro, Georgia; one son, Carl Vernon Clark Jr. (Lois) of Cumming, Georgia; one sister, Lois Freeman of Phoenix, Arizona; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1, in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Nathan Decker officiating. The burial will follow at the new annex of Poplar Spring Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home, and suggests memorial donations be made to a favorite charity.

His farewell to everyone is “Keep a Song in your Heart.”
