FRANKLIN
Family members, friends, community members and acquaintances all came together to raise money for a local woman who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
Barbara Harrell was diagnosed cancer and to help her with all of the out-of-pocket expenses.
Her family members and friends hosted a fundraiser in her honor.
They sold Captain Bob’s plates.
Those who purchased the plates came to pick them up on Friday and were able to buy from a bake sale the group put on as well.
In order to have Captain Bob’s as part of their fundraiser, they had to guarantee they would sell 300 plates.
They ended up selling 1,147 plates.
“We are overwhelmed with the support we have from the community,” Harrell’s daughter, Renee Benton, said. “It’s awesome.”
Harrell’s friend Robbin Stevens added, “This just shows how much this community comes together when someone is in need.”
All other’s who were there helping out said how thankful they were for everyone’s support and help.
