FRANKLIN — Aleene Castellow Hayes, 80, passed away on April 23, 2016, at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk.

She was a native of Suffolk, and was a daughter of the late James Castellow and Maggie Gilbert Castellow.

She was also predeceased by three sisters, a brother, Annie, Martha ,Georgia, Jimmy and her son-in-law, Jack Knapp.

Aleene was a graduate of Holland High School, and was a member of Hunterdale Christian Church. She was the bookkeeper for Billy at Hayes Body Shop.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Billy Vernon Hayes; one daughter, Debbie H. Knapp of Chesapeake; her twin sister, Pauline C. Padgett of Suffolk; and nieces and nephews.

The graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, in Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. Armand Jalbert officiating.

The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home on Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
