Dr. Chikako Ono, M.D., has joined Heart Care Associates and is now back in the community helping patients with their health care needs.

“I want my old patients to know I have come back,” Ono said.

Ono left the area several months ago to join Heart Care Associates, which are based in Hopewell. There is now a satellite office in Franklin, 110 Fairview Drive, Suite 103, where Ono will be seeing patients every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. She also maintains her privileges at Southampton Memorial Hospital, Southside Regional Medical Center and John Randolph Medical Center.

When asked why she wanted to return to the area and open a satellite office here, Ono said, “I like continuous care and I wanted to come back and be able to provide that for them. I know what my patients need and I know what works for them.”

Although several of Ono’s former patients have returned to her, she is hoping the rest will as well; Ono is also accepting new patients.

Heart Care Associates are not only hoping to bring continuous care to the area, they are also hoping to bring cardiac awareness and preventiveness. Their goal is to ultimately have programs that will help prevent cardiac disease in the community.

Ono received her medical degree from Nippon Medical School in Tokyo, Japan, and graduated in the top 3 percent of her class. After training in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease in Tokyo for six years, she moved to the United States in 2006.

She is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, adult echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and cardiovascular computed tomography. She also specializes in cardiovascular diagnostic imaging with cardiac computed tomography and cardiac magnetic resonance.
