To the Editor:
I just read the best article I’ve ever seen, by Ash Cutchin. I, too, was in the army during the ‘60s. It was one of the most thoughtful and factual articles the paper has ever printed. Thank you, Ash, for not sugarcoating and not being politically correct. Public officials seem to think they can lie to you and get away with it. The majority of the time they WILL get away with it, with the help of liberal news media covering for them. “Lie to me once, shame on them. Lie to me twice, shame on me” for not having the character to stand up for the truth. It would be a wonderful country if all would be honest and open.
There is one thing that I am deeply concerned about, and that is the future of our country. Our next president will likely appoint several Supreme Court justices. The court’s responsibility is to see that the laws created by Congress are constitutional. It is not their role to influence the selection of the president of the U.S. Supreme Court Judge [Ruth] Ginsburg showed that she is unqualified to serve on the Supreme Court. How can anyone believe she will be objective on any case that comes before the court? Bill Clinton appointed her to the highest court. Is this a payback? It is my opinion that Hillary Clinton would appoint several extremely liberal judges for the court. If this is done, we could lose some of our individual and religious freedoms. This is the most important issue facing our country today. There is no cry from the liberal news media for Ginsburg’s resignation. The Supreme Court should not be allowed to meddle in politics. With more liberal justices we could be under a dictatorship within a few years.
