Riverdale Elementary knows ‘Power of Yet’

To the Editor:
We at Riverdale are extremely proud of the efforts put forth by our students and staff during the 2015-16 school year. In coordination with the instructional team from the school board office and the program directors at the office of school improvement, under the direction of Bev Rabil, Riverdale administration developed action plans that ultimately resulted in RES becoming fully accredited.
Beginning in 2012, Riverdale spent four school years in the school improvement program. Progress was made throughout those years, but never enough to achieve full accreditation.
Throughout the 2015-16 school year, teachers and students adjusted and adapted their instruction, methods and preparation to ensure that success would be attained throughout the building and across all grade levels.
If not for the dedication of the staff of Riverdale, the accomplishment of full accreditation would have not be attainable.
Throughout the school year, Riverdale teachers continually strive to reach new heights and levels of student achievement. This growth mindset and the desire to be more than just good enough drives the school into the 2016-17 school year.
Please stop by and see the great things happening at Riverdale, and you too will see why our main bulletin board captures the attitude of the staff and students at Riverdale and the “Power of Yet.”
