It is with humble gratitude that we publish this special edition of The Tidewater News as a tribute and thank you to the men and women who put their lives on the line for our community every single day. Law enforcement professionals, paramedics, firefighters and those who perform roles in support of their efforts are truly heroes, heroes who go about their business in a professional manner, yet are often under-appreciated and certainly underpaid for the dangerous work that they have chosen to do.

To those that serve, we hope that today’s edition of your newspaper conveys to you even the slightest sense of how much your community values and appreciates the work that you do to keep us safe, healthy and out of harm’s way.
