IVOR — Jack Laverne Hardt, 75, passed away on Oct. 11, 2016, in Sentara Obici Hospital.
Jack was a native of Mars, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Glenn and Lucille Johnston Hardt, and was predeceased by his former wife, Brenda Riser Hardt.
He was a member of Millfield Baptist Church and Sedley Ruritan Club.
Jack had retired as a Petty Officer in the Navy after 21 years of service, and had also retired as an instrument technician from Union Camp Corporation.
Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Linda Hardt Bradley and husband, Don, of Dayton, Virginia; and Kathryn Hardt Andrews and husband, David, of El Paso, Texas; one son, Jack L. Hardt Jr. and wife, Jeannette, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; one sister, Glenda Jean Hardt Jones and husband, Marteniz, of Lexington, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Chris Hardt (who was raised by Jack), Rebekah Bradley, Jacob Bradley, Ian Hardt, Shalynn Andrews and Lillian Andrews; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, in Millfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Brooks Gale officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
