Laurel Pope, Dustin Wright engaged

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Pope and Dawn Womble announce the engagement of their daughter, Laurel Pope, to Dustin Wright, both of Franklin. He is the son of Keith Wright and Mitch Wright.
Laurel is the maternal granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Callahan of Emporia, and paternal granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlotte Rasnake of Franklin, and the late Junius “Kingfish” Pope.

A 2010 graduate of Southampton High School, Laurel earned an associate of science degree in 2013 from Paul D. Camp Community College, and a bachelor of science in nursing from Liberty University in 2016.
She is a registered nurse in the emergency department with Bon Secours and a nursing instructor with Paul D. Camp Community College.
Dustin is the maternal grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Barry Cottrell of Apopka, Florida, and paternal grandson of Mr. and Mrs. David Wright of Franklin, and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Blythe of Courtland.
A 2010 graduate of Southampton High School, he is a mechanic at Franklin Truck and Trailer.
The wedding is set to take place on Oct. 21, 2017, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Blythe on Darden Mill Pond in Courtland.
