Public Notice City of Franklin Board of Zoning Appeals

Public Notice

 

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 15.2-2204 and 15.2-2309 of the Code of Virginia as amended, that the City of Franklin Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a Public Hearing on July 31, 2017 at 5:30 pm, to consider the following application:

 

1) The application of, Shawonda Massenburg (owner), for a Permitted Conditional use as a special exception pursuant to Article III, Section 3.3(4) child day centers. Such conditional use when authorized as a special exception by the Board of Zoning Appeals will allow the use of a single family dwelling located at 723 Pace Street, (tax parcel 122-(060)-6) zoned R-1, General Residence District to be used as a Child Day Center as defined in Article XXIX Definitions, of the City of Franklin Zoning Ordinance.

 

2) The application of, Agape Worship Center, Rev. Calvin L. Hanshaw Sr. (applicant) located at 1307 Mariner Street, (138-87-E-4) for a Permitted Conditional Use as a special exception to Article III, section 3.8, (1) of the R2 General Residence District. The conditional use when authorized by the Board of Zoning Appeals will allow for a 10’X28’ addition to be built onto the rear of the existing structure.

 

Copies of said application are on file in the office of the Director of Community Development, 207 West Second Avenue, Franklin, Virginia, and are available for public examination during normal business hours. Any person desiring to be heard in favor of, in opposition to or to express his or her views with respect to the aforesaid application may appear before and be heard by said Board during the Public Hearing to be held in City Hall Council Chambers, 207 West Second Avenue, Franklin, Virginia, on July 31, 2017 beginning at 5:30 p.m.

 

The public hearing is to be held at a public facility designed to be accessible to persons with disabilities. Any persons with questions concerning the accessibility of the facility or those who have need for reasonable accommodations should contact Philip H. Sherman, Secretary, at (757) 562-8680. Persons needing interpreter services for the deaf must notify Mr. Sherman at least seven (7) days in advance of the hearing.
