FRANKLIN
On Thursday at 10:57 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call from a resident in the 300 block of Forest Pine Road. This information comes from Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department.

The resident reported that a young black male, dressed in dark clothing, was trying to break into his apartment. A responding officer observed a person matching the description of the suspect and when this person saw the officer, he fled.

After a search of the area, officers located the suspect on Homestead Road and took him in to custody. Investigation revealed that the suspect attempted to gain entry into the apartment by kicking the front door. The person arrested, a 15-year-old Franklin youth, was transported to the police department. He was later released to a family member pending charges for attempted burglary.
