A Franklin man has been arrested on charges of felony eluding an possession of a stolen vehicle after leading Southampton County deputies on a high-speed chase Tuesday evening.
Lt. Camden Cobb, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said that at approximately 10:46 p.m. on Tuesday, a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Southampton Parkway (U.S. Route 58) near Meherrin Road.
The driver, later identified as Ahmond Tyshaun Coner, 20, of Franklin, allegedly attempted to flee, traveling as far as Capron on Southampton Parkway at speeds in excess of 100 mph.
