Kenneth H. Moore

FRANKLIN — Kenneth Handy Moore, 36, left us on Jan. 12, 2018.
He was born on Jan. 27, 1981, in Richmond, Virginia, to Patricia H. Bass and Handy G. Moore.
He graduated from Franklin High School and the Governor’s School for the Arts. He went on to Virginia Commonwealth University and earned a BA in Fine Arts. At the time of his death, he was a graduate student at Mary Washington University.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, David A. Bass; an infant sister, Meredith N. Moore; his maternal grandfather, Bert E. Hall Jr.; and his paternal grandparents, Handy and Frances Moore.
He is survived by his mother, Patti Bass; his father, Handy Gail Moore; his maternal grandmother, Nance A. Hall; his sister, Kathleen (Katie) Moore; his nephew, Ashton Moore, his aunts, Margie H. Gillum, Jackie H. Updike (Kyle,) Lori A. Hall, Carrie H. Duckwall (Thomas); Thomas Hall (Shubie), Chris Hall, Peter Hall (Leanne;) a special “aunt,” Sandy Holloman; and family friend, Carlos Ferrerias. He is also survived by numerous loving cousins.
Kenneth was a prolific artist. He had several one-man exhibits and had works shown in the Chrysler Museum (Portsmouth) and Art First Gallery (Fredericksburg) as well as in Richmond. He loved to read and enjoyed music.
The Catholic Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Father Charles Saglio and will be in St. Jude Catholic Church, 1014 Clay St., Franklin, Virginia, on Monday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. The private interment will be at a later date.
