The Franklin High School Broncos boys’ tennis team traveled to Southampton High School on Monday, as both teams played their last regular season match of the year.
Playing under cloudy skies, the two teams were able to squeeze the match in and the home team came out on top with a 7-2 win. But as there have been matches this season that went the distance for the Broncos, this match had no exception, as the No. 2 singles match between FHS William Brown and SHS Alan Diggs did just that.
After battling to an 8-all tie in an eight-game pro set, the host coach decision was for the two players to win by two games to determine the winner of the match. After many rounds of volleys, ties and hard-fought points, William Brown for the Broncos prevailed to take a 12-10 win over Diggs.
