Beginning on Monday, July 16, the Virginia Department of Transportation’s bridge crew will close a section of Route 637 (Jones Town Road) in Ivor over the Rattle Snake Swamp for bridge replacement for up three weeks.

The scheduled reopening date is on Friday, Aug. 3.

A signed detour will be in place. The northbound detour will be from Route 637 (Jones Town Drive.) Travel one mile on Route 681 (Raynor Road,) turn left onto Route 625 (Modest Neck Road,) and in 2.4 miles, turn left onto Route 623 (Green Level Road.) In 1.2 miles, turn left onto Route 621 (Mill Swamp Road,) and in .8 miles the detour ends.
