The Southampton-Sussex Pony all stars are moving on again, thanks to a first-place finish in the PONY Sectional Championships last week at the Southern Chesapeake Athletic Association.

S-S followed up an opening round, 14-11 victory over Great Neck on Tuesday with consecutive wins over Western Tidewater, 12-2 on Friday, and 13-3 in Saturday’s championship game. The five-team field also included Kempsville and Southern Chesapeake.

The team advances to the East Zone Championship in High Point, North Carolina. They will be joined by Section runners-up Western Tidewater, High Point, North Carolina, and the North and West Region champions, who have yet to be determined.

The tournament begins on Wednesday, Aug. 1 and concludes on Saturday, Aug. 4. The winner will advance to the PONY International World Series in Washington, Pennsylvania the following week.
