WINDSOR
Hurricane Florence continues to dampen everyone’s spirits by requiring the cancellation of a much-anticipated event this week. The Isle of Wight County Fair has announced on its Facebook page that the event for Sept. 13-16 has been cancelled. But the fair will not be rescheduled.
The Fair Facebook page goes on to state that everyone who bought admission tickets in advance will get refunds. The administration is looking into what the refund process will be and will announce the next steps soon.
For advanced midway ride tickets, these tickets can be saved for next year’s fair, or you can go to the original purchasing location and get your refund.
For the most current information, keep following Facebook.
But, if it’s any consolation, the Seafood Fest will still occur on Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 4 to 9 p.m on the fairgrounds.
Musical entertainment will be provided by the Silver Street Band.
Catering will be by Captain Bob’s.
Advanced tickets cost $30; $35 at the gate.
