Phil Taylor

FRANKLIN — Mr. Philbert “Phil” Taylor, 54, of Lee Street, transitioned on Jan. 26, 2019, while a patient in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
He was born on April 18, 1964, in King’s County, New York, to Geaster L. Taylor.
His educational accomplishments include attending Franklin High School, P.D. Camp Community College and Old Dominion University, where he earned his B.S. degree and a certificate in welding.
As a young man, “Phil” received Jesus Christ as his personal savior and he enjoyed studying the word. He retired from the P.D. Camp Community College Regional Workforce Center as a supervisor. During his lifetime, “Phil” has held other positions, namely, Smithfield Meat Packing Company, tutor at P.D. Camp Community College and a certified substance abuse counsellor.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, to whom he was completely devoted; other loving relatives; his special friend, Zoe Ramos, and her caring family.
On Friday from 5 to 7 p.m., the family will receive friends in the Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, 224 S. Main St., Franklin.
The homegoing service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, in Pine Level Baptist Church, 23035 Church St., Capron, with the pastor, the Rev. H. Keith Rose, delivering the eulogy. The committal and benediction will be held in the church cemetery.
A traditional service with dignity will be performed by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc.
