Spring is around the corner, and the Franklin-Southampton Area United Way is planning its second annual Play It Forward Topgolf Tournament. The fundraiser, presented by the Bronco Federal Credit Union, will be on Saturday, March 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Topgolf location.
Registration for a team of six is $420 and includes three hours of Topgolf tournament play, lunch, prizes and a lifetime membership to Topgolf. Individual players can register for $70 each. Friends or family that wish to join the event for lunch and prizes only can pay $35 for a spectator ticket.
“This event is fun for everyone,” said United Way President Sion Carr. “You don’t have to be an experienced golfer to play. We have teams representing our local businesses and organizations that include many non-golfers and they have just as much fun, maybe more!”
Prizes will be awarded for the top teams in the beginner and advanced categories. This year, the United Way has also added a $10,000 Hole in One contest and anyone is eligible to compete for that prize. In addition to the bag of goodies that each player receives, everyone is registered to win door prizes.
“We have a great variety of raffle prizes including gift certificates, baskets and food assortments from local businesses,” said event chairperson Micah Dillon. “We have also been blessed by the support of our local businesses that are sponsoring the event.”
In addition to team or player registrations, sponsorships are still available for the event by visiting www.franklinunitedway.org.
Proceeds from the tournament support the Franklin-Southampton Area United Way’s community impact programs. All local programs provide residents in Franklin and Southampton County with assistance in the areas of basic needs, education, health and financial stability.
