A Franklin woman is in custody after allegedly attacking a staff member at the Applebee’s on Armory Drive on Tuesday evening.
According to Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department, officers responded to the restaurant at 7:15 p.m. Police say Nadia Josephine Jean-Louis of the 600 block of Cameron Street allegedly attacked the staff member following an argument over an ex-boyfriend, and, as she was being escorted out of the building by other staff members, picked up a steak knife and threw it, striking the female staff member with whom she had been arguing. The victim received minor injuries.
The victim obtained a warrant for Jean-Louis’ arrest on charges of assault and battery. Officers discovered that she had multiple warrants on file for incidents that occurred in November 2018. They located her at the Dorchester Square Apartments, where she allegedly began fighting with another female in the presence of the officers. She was immediately arrested and, due to the crimes being of a violent nature, was remanded to the Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond. Charges now include assault, stalking, threatening an illegal/immoral act over the telephone, making annoying telephone calls and two counts of assault and battery.
