Set your DVRs, cancel your dinner plans: Your community is about to take center (television) stage! Franklin Southampton Economic Development was thrilled when the opportunity presented itself to showcase our vibrant community through the Hampton Roads Show’s Zip Trip special.

The Hampton Roads Show, a daily news program on WAVY TV-10, recently revitalized a previous show segment entitled Zip Trip. This broadcasted section showcases communities both in and around Hampton Roads ideal for a quick day-trip getaway.

This summer’s installment will feature the Franklin Southampton locality and will give you an inside look as to why you should come spend a day with us.

Show anchor Kerri Furey visited one of Downtown Franklin’s newest retail shops, then had an outdoor excursion on the Blackwater River. The segment will air twice on WAVY TV-10: Thursday, May 30, at 7 p.m. and Friday, May 31, at 11 a.m.

We are filled with anticipation for everyone to see the final segment and are thrilled to welcome new and old visitors alike to Franklin Southampton.
