Foundation sponsoring school bash

FRANKLIN

The third annual Community Back to School Bash has been scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, and will be on the South College Drive playground. This event has again been organized by the Empowerment and Uplifting Foundation, and co-sponsored by many community partners.

Students are invited to get school supplies while they last.

Raymond Barnes of the foundation stated, “The goal is te distribute 500 back packs filled with chool supplies. We have a day planned full of food, fun, entertainment and fellowship. Our aim is to welcome the entire community out for a bite to eat and encourage our children as they prepare to enter into the new school year. This event has grown each year and we look forward to a wonderful day in our beloved city of Franklin.”

There will be also be free haircuts, and opportunities to make appointments for beauty salon and manicures.
