FRANKLIN
On June 9, 78 boys and young men were recognized and encouraged to dream, set goals, persevere in achieving them, and repeat the cycle to grow and live a fulfilling life.
The second annual Achievement Celebration took place at the Franklin High School auditorium in the presence of family, friends and members of the Franklin-Southampton Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
The young achievers were chosen by principals, teachers and guidance counselors, according to Victor Picot, Achievement Celebration chairman and a member of the local fraternity.
Dominic Brown, WIS (SC) chief meteorologist and also a member of the local fraternity, was the speaker of the evening, captivating the honorees and the audience with the words, “Do the right thing.” He emphasized that the choices made today can have an impact on tomorrow.
