The Panthers of Rapahannock County High School won 38-20 against the visiting Southampton High School Indians on Monday evening.
SHS Coach Travis Parker said, when asked for comment, “It is very hard to win football games when you are on the negative side of turnovers, and have penalties at critical points of the game.”
But, he sees the time off as an opportunity for the future.
“We will use the open week to focus on our weakness in order to become a better football team by the time we go to Colonial Heights next week,” said Parker.
He added, “The second half of the game was much better than the first half. The team showed some resilience, so we will build on that. We will continue to work hard. Thank God for traveling mercies.”
