Larry C. Umphlett

FRANKLIN — Larry Cortese Umphlett, 72, passed away on Oct. 3, 2019, with his family by his side.
Born in Suffolk, he was the son of the late Linwood Cortese Umphlett and Bertha Smith Umphlett.
Larry was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and a taxidermist for 20 years.
He was a manager for Auto Zone, and a former employee of Union Camp Corporation.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Elaine Jernigan Umphlett; a daughter, Jill Marie Umphlett; a stepson, Michael Lee Parker; and two grandchildren, Emmy Riece Umphlett Robertson and Logan Lee Parker.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard Vinson officiating. A committal service with military honors will be at 3 p.m. in the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran’s Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
