A multi-vehicle accident on U.S. Route 58 E (Southampton Parkway) has resulted in four fatalities.

The Southampton County Sheriff’s Office is currently working the scene with the assistance of the Virginia State Police. The accident occurred at approximately 7:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, between Popes Station Road and Buckhorn Quarter Road near Capron.

Eastbound lanes of Southampton Parkway are currently closed between Popes Station Road and Buckhorn Quarter Road, and will remain so for an undetermined amount of time.
