The City of Franklin’s Fire and Rescue Department has announced its offer of what the agency calls the EMS Subscription Plan, which is intended to help residents cover those out-of-pocket costs, such as insurance co-plays and deductions when emergency ambulance transportation is needed.
The press release issued on Friday afternoon states, “Your health insurance plan, Medicare/Medicaid or any other insurance you may have will be charged for the service provided. If there is a balance left, by you being enrolled in this subscription plan, the plan will cover the rest no matter how many times you may need emergency transport during the plan year.”
The agency stresses that, “This is for emergency services provided on scene and transport only.”
The cost for the subscription plan is $60 and goes from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, and will have to be reneweed annually. The fee “covers everybody who lives at your address as long as they are listed on the application.”
There are two steps to enrolling:
• First, complete the application, which can be obtained at either the Franklin Fire and Rescue Station on 100 S. Main St., or the Hunterdale Volunteer Fire Department on 201 Delaware Road.
• Second, just return the form and a check or money order made payable to Franklin Fire and Rescue. You can mail or bring in person to the Franklin site.
