Virginia cases top 1,000

Virginia surpassed 1,000 total cases of COVID-19 in Monday morning’s report from the Virginia Department of Health.
The current case total stands at 1,020, which is a 14.6-percent increase.
There have been 136 total hospitalizations and 25 deaths, according to the latest report. A total of 12,038 people have been tested.
Statewide, cases in those over 50 represent about 52 percent of all cases.
The Western Tidewater Health District now reports three cases in Suffolk, up from one. Suffolk’s first case was reported March 19.
The Western Tidewater Health District also reports three cases in Isle of Wight County and one case in Southampton County.
