These motley Amercauna chicks (aka Easter Egg layers) were photographed by Zoey Compton, 10, of Surry for the area online 4-H photo contest that took place some weeks ago.

The agency, which is dedicated to promoting agriculture in youth, provided virtual opportunities for its young members while quarantining at home during the pandemic.

Compton’s photo was chosen as the first-place winner for the Isle of Wight County side. Second and third place winners’s photos will be presented as they become available.
