FRANKLIN

The Rock Church of Franklin recently celebrated 45 years of building his Kingdom in Franklin, Virginia. In June, they celebrated life, longevity and love as they came together to worship the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Forty-five years ago, Pastors David and Patty Dillon came to Franklin and pioneered the Rock Church ministry. They began worshiping and believing for God’s goodness to abound in Franklin and Southampton County and haven’t stopped for 45 years. The timing of this anniversary was significant for the Rock family. The celebration weekend was June 12-14.

On June 12, 2017, the church — along with the Dillon family — experienced a loss of life that shook, not only the church, but also the community deeply when Ben Dillon passed away unexpectedly. He was a pillar in the church and the principal of Rock Church School.

Over the last three years, Pastor Danny Dillon, the lead pastor of the Rock Church has spearheaded the building of the Life Center to honor the legacy of his brother, Ben. To see this mission completed was a major accomplishment for the Kingdom.

On June 12, 2020, the Rock family dedicated the Ben S. Dillon Life Center with a celebration of his life.

On June 13, 1975, Rock Church was established in Franklin. On June 13, Rock Church continues to thrive. Pastors David and Patty transitioned the church to their son, Danny, after 40 years. This year, they celebrate the longevity of a God who remains.

Finally, they celebrated love. On June 14, 1970, Pastors David and Patty Dillon got married. Now, 50 years later, on June 14, 2020, they celebrate a love that lasts a lifetime, a love that remains. Congratulations to the Dillon’s for 50 years of marriage and 45 years of church

This anniversary celebration encompassed more than just another year — it exemplifies a covenant that sustains His love for a lifetime. Rock Church is in Franklin to stay! They will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony once the pandemic has subsided.
